Karen Tracy
Karen Tracy has a private yoga practice that spans 18 years and many traditions. She studied with many of today’s yoga luminaries including Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Saul David Raye, Mark Whitwell, Erich Schiffmann, Dharma Mittra and Dana Flynn. She most recently completed yoga teacher training with Kripalu at Esalen in 2013 and previously, she took teacher training with Himalayan Institute in Allahabad, India, February 2010. Known in the Joshua Tree community as both a rock climber and weight-lifter for over 35 years, Karen confesses, yogini is her preferred title. Yoginis watch and manage their stress carefully. She has a long history of intentional mindfulness (Transcendental Meditation.) She moved to TM headquarters in 2007 spending 6 hours per day for 1 year, meditating in the Domes at Maharishi University of Management, Fairfield, Iowa. This grace merges with her yoga asana practice, which is a universal path of health and deep spiritual awareness. She is able to guide the “yoga-challenged” in stillness, flexibility and balance, which translates literally into stilled moments, flexibility and a balanced life. Yoga, as Karen teaches, can bring peace and profound inner composure.
