One of my primary ways of existing in the world is movement. My yoga practice first developed in high school to compliment the abrasiveness of my dance training and it hasn’t left my side since. I moved to New York in 2014 to pursue work as a modern dancer and this is when my yoga education truly began. My studies include dance kinesiology and pedagogy, somatic movement practices, alignment based vinyasa yoga, therapeutics of yoga, breathwork and sound healing. I also practice Intuitive Thai Bodywork and continue studying within this branch of Buddhist medicine. My teaching is inspired by the elements— the expressive nature of being human— in my classes there is ample space to be yourself and attune to that which is already inside of you. When I’m not teaching, I am likely spending time with my little tiger cat Moku, cooking, and taking nature walks with my partner Alex. The intensity of this land allows for quietude and reflection, life in the desert reminds us of fortitude, an element we can unveil within our practice and throughout our lives.
